It is a double celebration for Vanuatu.
The Under-20-team beat the Solomon’s side yesterday afternoon to secure a place in the World Under-20 competition in Korea next year and booked a place in the finals against New Zealand on Saturday.
It was none other than Bong Kalo, Vanuatu Captain, and his No.10 Ronaldo Wilkins who have taken Vanuatu through to the final.
In the Melanesian classic match, both teams were tied at a 1-all draw till the dying minutes when Vanuatu was the lucky team to have scored just before full time.
People went wild on the street chanting and vehicles horns blasting around town in Port Vila and Luganville when the final kick hit the net behind the Solomon’s goal keeper.
Vanuatu will now play New Zealand in the final and both teams have qualified for Seoul in 2017
