Market vendors in Vanuatu will receive financial training as part of UN Women Pacific's Markets for Change project thanks to an agreement signed this week between UNDP in Asia and the Pacific and National Bank of Vanuatu.
Most of the vendors taking part in the trainings will be members of fresh produce market vendor associations based in Port Vila, Marobe and Luganville markets.
The training programme will look to teach market vendors new personal finance and business skills in order to help them improve their market businesses and socio-economic security.
The trainings will be delivered byUNDP and National Bank of Vanuatu.
The Markets for Change project has already run similar trainings in Fiji, and is in the process of rolling them out in Solomon Islands.
The project is principally funded by Australian High Commission, Vanuatu.
