The 10th Pacific Mini Games will include components exclusively for cultural performances within its program.
It is an opportunity for Vanuatu to showcase some of its outstanding cultural performance groups from Port Vila and Efate.
These performances will be presented according to a well-developed ceremonies order that has been developed alongside the Pacific Games Council charter.
These Cultural performances will be viewed by an audience of over two thousand and staged at the Korman Stadium as well as other sports venues to portray Vanuatu’s cultural pride for the 2017 Pacific Mini Games.
The well-established Vanuatu Kaljorol Senta (VKS,) as member of the Vanuatu Cultural Advisory Group to the Van2017 Pacific Mini Games, has been tasked with the responsibility to interview, select and recommend all cultural groups that are interested in performing in the ceremonies of the Games.
Mr. Richard Shing, Acting Director of VKS states: “The Vanuatu Kaljorol Senta is pleased to be a part of the Van2017 Games and since culture is an integral component of every Ni-Vanuatu and Pacific Islanders’ way of life, we are proud that the Van2107 has not only included cultural activities in their program, but also have engaged the Vanuatu Kaljorol Senta in the nomination and organizing of these cultural groups for the event. We will ensure that the cultural groups chosen to participate and highlight the Van2017 Games are a good reflection of Vanuatu’s rich and diverse cultural heritage, are professional in their timing, are appropriately culturally adorned and will put on a performance that will be the talk for years to come”.
Van2017 is appealing to every cultural performance groups residing in Port Vila and on Efate, that are interested in performing as part of the ceremonies, to complete an application form available at the Vanuatu Kaljorol Senta.
Please free to collect one and fill out and drop it back to the Vanuatu Kaljorol Senta for their recommendation.
Application forms without recommendation and endorsement from the Cultural Centre will not be accepted.
