Elections officials from Vanuatu, Fiji and Solomon Islands will be part of a team of observers from the Melanesian Spearhead Group to the Papua New Guinea election next month.
Martin Tete will represent Vanuatu on the team.
A former Solomon Islands prime minister, Sir Francis Billy Hilly will lead the observer team.
Other members are former Fiji president, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, and Phillipe Ajapunya a member of the political bureau of the FLNKS in New Caledonia.
The MSG was invited to send a team at the invitation of the PNG government.
Polling is scheduled to begin June 24 and end on July 8.
The PNG Electoral Commission says a total of 3332 candidates have nominated to contest the 2017 election, based on official figures from each province.
