Digicel Celebrates Independence with Mele Community

Digicel Vanuatu, in partnership with Nestle, have announced the sponsorship of the 36th Independence Celebration that kicked off on Sunday the 24th of July at 2pm with a grand parade.

The programme includes children’s activities, sports tournaments, talent and fashion shows and live music and entertainment at night. The Digicel Concert on Saturday the 30th of July will showcase some of Vanuatu’s most loved artists such as Smol Fyah, Metoxide & the Riddim box and Jah Boy.

Digicel and Nestle immediately accepted to join the celebration by sponsoring The Concert night.  The Mele Independence committee were grateful for the sponsorship to help make their event bigger and better this year.

The programme will gather together people from all ages for free entertainment to spread the happiness in this festive period.

Thursday 28th July 2016

Sports activities (Soccer and Volleyball) and shows at night: Fashion Show of Miss Imere Pageant and Talent Show

Friday 29th July 22016

9am - 10pm

Sports activities (Soccer and Volleyball) and night entertainment: Keamu Akaija dance group, Yang Nabanga, Mele band, Naoia band

Saturday 30th July 2016

9am – 11:30pm

Activities and Digicel Concert: Mele band, Rim Selekta, Confliction, Nawarake &  Krasrut, Smol Fyah, Konserners, Metoxide & the Riddim box, Milly Dhams & the Chronical dub, Jah Boy

Digicel and Nestle are delighted to join forces to support such an initiative. Music and sports bring people together in Vanuatu, and when there so many famous bands, the Vanuatu audience erupts with delight! This year will be no exception in celebrating the Independence of one of the happiest nations.
