The Director of Vanuatu's popular theatre company, Wan Smolbag, was attacked by three knife-wielding people on Friday night.
Peter Walker and two members of his family were attacked late at night over the weekend.
The Daily Post newspaper reports Mr Walker and two visiting cousins were staying at his family property about 10 kilometres south of Port Vila when they were attacked by the masked group.
After the attack, Mr Walker was able walk to a nearby Vanuatu Mobile Force post to report what had happened and the victims were taken to hospital.
The men reportedly suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
