Upskilling HopeChannel TV Production Team

As part of the goal the SDA Mission in Vanuatu sent a Production Team of 18 people to Fiji to attend the Project Hope Training in Suva.

The training is being organized by the Trans-Pacific Union Mission office in Suva, HopeChannel South Pacific and HopeChannel International.

It aims to train producers, presenters, video editors, camera operators, sound recorders and other skill areas on producing television programs. 

The team had their final meeting at the Mission office and Pr Nos Terry, Vanuatu Mission President met, spoke and prayed for the members before they flew out of the country.

"In my leadership I want to make use of the skills and abilities of the members. The Mission Directors will not be able to do the work. If we want to run a successful Media Ministry in Vanuatu we have to get each member involve, he told the team."

Creative and Technical people from Solomon, Fiji, Vanuatu, Samoa, American Samoa and Tonga are attending the training in Suva during which HopeChannel experts will provide on- the -job training to help each mission to produce local contents for HopeChannel in their respective missions.

As part of its hand-on training, the Vanuatu Team will produce 7 programs. Plans and scripts for the programs started last year 2015.

The programs are on Health, Children, Bible Study, Singing, Instrumental Music, Testimonies and Sermon. Each of the programs have 13 episodes of 28 minutes.

Hope Channel is a Christian lifestyle television network owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. A global network, there are 44 Hope Channels worldwide, all of which provide programs that are contextualized to the language and culture of each audience. Focusing on balanced, Christian living, Hope Channel programs cover topics such as mind, body, spirit, family, and community.

The Hope Channel Vanuatu is the newest free-to-air TV channel in Vanuatu and the second to produce religious programs to viewers in Vanuatu.
