Vanuatu's internal affairs minister has suspended a senior police inspector who was allegedly involved in an assault.
Andrew Napuat has named the officer as Ephraim Kalorib, who is alleged to have assaulted the husband of a senior public servant.
Mr Kalorib is suspended on half pay in line with a recommendation from the police commissioner, Albert Nalpini.
He is suspended pending a preliminary hearing towards the end of January.
