The Vanuatu government says tender notices for the administration of its international flagship registry are to be issued early next year.
The Vanuatu Daily Post reported the signing follows two months of negotiations that have resulted in a commitment to increased revenue sharing with government and more training for ni-Vanuatu personnel in the administration of the registry.
The new contract hopes to improve certification and promotion of ni-Vanuatu seafarers on the vessels in the registry, and see the secondment of ni-Vanuatu Maritime officers with tertiary qualifications to international shipping registry offices in New York, Tokyo and Busan.
